Group rides are a perfect way to get active outdoors and explore the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area away from the tourist traps and out of San Francisco’s often foggy weather.
Great for the first time mountain biker, families, or the experienced rider with a new rider friend. We'll get in a scenic bay tour on singletrack and work on MTB specific skills to help both new and experienced riders ride safer and more comfortably on the trails.
Experience Level
Beginner/Intermediate. We will be riding on wider beginner and low intermediate singletrack (narrow trails). This ride has a couple different route options depending on the groups fitness and experience level. We general cover 7-10 miles with 200 to 800 vertical feet of climbing. For more experienced riders on the tour we can offer extra skills tips to improve your riding or offer private guided rides with routes tailored just for your skill and fitness levels.
TOUR SCHEDULE
Morning Ride
9:05am- Pickup at the Larkspur Ferry ($11 and 35 minute scenic ride from the Ferry Building in downtown SF)
9:30am- Make sure your rental bikes are adjusted and hit the trails.
12-12:30pm- Drop off at Larskpur Ferry or Marin Brew Co for a celebratory beer
Afternoon Ride
2:00pm- Pickup at the Larkspur Ferry ($11 and 35 minute scenic ride from the Ferry Building in downtown SF)
2:30pm- Make sure your rental bikes are adjusted and hit the trails
5-5:30pm- Drop off at Larskpur Ferry or Marin Brew Co for a celebratory beer

Marin County, CAlifornia the birth of a sport
Marin County is the birthplace of the Mountain Bike. Back in the early 1970s a group of young men and women started riding their Klunker paperboy bikes up and down the fire protection roads in the county. While some would argue they weren't the only (or even first ones) to start taking bikes up and down mountains, it was their modification of their cruiser bikes, adding of handbrakes and eventually derailleur and multiple gears that get them credit with the birth of the sport.
